Values are the non-negotiable convictions and priorities that keep our actions, as a church, on track towards accomplishing our vision and mission. We believe God has called Local to these six values:
We believe that everything we do starts from a foundation in God’s Word so that we can know God, know the plans He has for us. The more we know the Bible, the more it transforms how we speak, how we act and how we might impact those around us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Colossians 2:6-8)
We are God’s handiwork and were created in His image. We are not perfect and won’t pretend to be. But we will strive to become who God intended us to be as we grow closer to Him and to each other. (1 Corinthians 2:1-5)
Each one of us was made to make a difference and, with God’s help, we believe we can change our neighborhoods, our community and the world around us. We do this by serving those who are lost and hurting, sharing the love of Jesus and working for justice in the world. (Matthew 28:18-20)
When we are generous with our attention, abilities, resources, time, and gifts, there is no limit to what God can do and how He might work in and through us. (1 Peter 4:10)
We believe that found people find people. Jesus didn’t wait for people to come to Him and we are committed to following His lead. Invitation is one way we follow Jesus’ example so others can experience God’s grace and be changed by Him. (Matthew 22:9-10)
We are better together. Individually, we come from diverse backgrounds and have unique experiences and gifts. Collectively, we are ONE in Christ, united to serve in the places He has planted us. (1 Corinthians 12:12)
